What can 379 Catholic Heart Work Campers do in a community in 4 days of blistering heat and sleeping on the floor at Ranum Middle School?
At 105 different houses we Scrapped chalked and completely painted 21 houses on the outside, 133 rooms inside, 2 sets of kitchen cabinets, 15 unattached garages and sheds, completely gutted and built 2 bathrooms, re-plumbed 1 complete house, new tile a bathroom, hallway and kitchen, refinished hardwood floor in one house, power washed 19 homes or decks, repaired and stained 21 decks and 8 wheel chair ramps, dug up 15 stumps, repaired 4 electrical services, assisted 12 homeowners with their computers, removed animal smelling carpet 2 homes, washed over 620 windows inside and out, scrubbed 20 houses inside entirely, reset or replace 17 toilets, repaired and painted 15 doors, totally vacuumed 13 houses, fixed 12 screens, hung 3 ceiling fans, repaired 3 swamp coolers, 6 light fixtures, 5 leaky faucets, 8 drywall jobs, repaired and painted 1800 foot of fence, tore down and replaced 200 foot of fence, cleaned and repaired 3500 foot of gutters, fixed 3 concrete steps, help plant and weed 23 gardens, pulled weeds at 53 different homes, trimmed and cut grass at 42 homes, laid mulch at 8 homes, built 3 iron hand rails, moved and help build 10 stone gardens approximately 47 yards of rock, help plant flowers at 9 houses, sorted clothes Precious Child Group, removed 15 old appliances, cut down over 120 trees, cut and trimmed trees and bushes at 42 homes, built a retaining wall, built a stone patio, shampooed the carpet in 6 homes, but more than that we removed over 77 hugh pickup loads of trash which sums up to 350 compressed cubic yards of trash from our neighborhood. But yet the most important part of all is that these 379 campers brought excitement for life and Christ to the homeowners as the home owners did to the campers.
